Bio

Dr. Kate Schertzer ND, DC is a primary care doctor of naturopathic and chiropractic medicine who takes a multidimensional, holistic approach to treatment, considering the physical, emotional, social and spiritual health of her patients. She has a focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of dis-ease, using tools from in depth history taking, functional movement screening and hands-on physical assessment, to comprehensive lab and diagnostic analysis. She strives to provide a patient-centred, collaborative approach to wellness, offering support and guidance to help each patient achieve their unique health goals. Thomas Edison once said "The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Dr. Schertzer lives and practices by these words, focusing on patient education and preventative medicine. She is dedicated to continued learning with a commitment to her community and herself to provide the most innovative, evidence based, patient centred care.

Drawing from a versatile background, Dr. Schertzer recognizes the utility of both conventional and alternative medical modalities in the journey of health and wellness. As such, she utilizes a diverse array of treatments including physical medicine, chiropractic manipulation and soft tissue therapies, nutrition and lifestyle changes, acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplementation and more. She carries additional certifications in acupuncture, IV therapy, advanced injection therapy, and prescriptive authority.

Her particular areas of focus include musculoskeletal conditions, chronic infectious disease, autoimmune disease, pregnancy, paediatrics, and gut health. Her goal as a practitioner is to be humble, to live and practice with openness and integrity and be of service as a resource for her patients and community.

Kate practices out of her home clinic on Tuesdays. To book with Kate at the Arbutus Branch on Tuesdays, click here.
